All About Ben Ong
WHO IS BEN ONG?
Nowadays, Ben Ong
is fully occupied as a sought-after supplement formulator, best-selling author and event speaker on the subject of prostate and metabolic disease.
He is a renowned global prostate health expert, and an advocate for men's health and alternative health.
However, this wasn't always Ben's life.
15 years ago, Ben
would have been hard pressed to even tell you what the prostate gland did - like many men, he
was far from an expert.
In fact, if it wasn't for a terrifying bout of prostate disease in the early 2000s, Ben
may never have become the respected figure he
is today and may never have helped thousands by writing his
best-seller, All About The Prostate
Ben was born in 1941 in Morocco, shortly before his family emigrated to America.
had then, and still has today, a fierce independent streak and instinctive distrust of authority, probably instilled in him as a result of his
father's opposition to the Nazis.
In many cases it would go on to shape his
life; however, none more dramatically than when it got him kicked out of high school.
After repeated clashes with the principal he
was eventually told, Western film-style, that the school wasn't big enough for the two of them and unfortunately the principal worked there.
That was the end of Ben's formal education.
was not one to just give up.
A mere 2 days after being expelled from school he
had gotten himself a job in a cardboard box factory.
The pay was garbage, the hours were long and the job was tedious but he
was adamant that if he
worked hard he
would make it.
was determined to realize his
own American dream in England.
way up through many industries, from humble beginning in a box factory to managing a central London fashion store to starting up and running a software development company.
Along the way, Ben
met and married his
wonderful wife Nikki.
They now have 5 kids and are looking forward to their 30th wedding anniversary.
Ben's prostate journey began early in the year 2000.
After years of hard work, Ben
had earned a break and retired, selling his
software company and winding down all his

family - his
youngest daughter was just 4 years old and he
figured it was probably time that he
began to take things a little slower.
had, after all, been hard at work since the age of 16.
Like many fathers, he
was looking forward to enjoying more bonding time with both his
wife and kids, and ready to never miss a key family moment again.
Married for 30 years, he
even hoped that the joyful sounds of playful grand-kids were not so far off.
But then disaster struck.
Unfortunately for him his
prostate health began to degenerate.
Soon Ben was waking up four times a night and rushing to every toilet he
saw during the day.
found out the hard way what it really means to have poor prostate health.
Not yet being the expert he
has gone on to become, he
did what most men would do in this situation: he
made an appointment to go see his
However, the doctor was unable to help Ben
In fact, he
made him feel worse than before he
had scheduled the appointment.
didn't feel he
'd been treated as an individual - he felt more like a wallet to be weighed, a case to be filed and a statistic to be counted.
doctor pushed him to take high doses of drugs he
knew nothing about and began making plans for highly invasive surgery.
Despite Ben's need to know, the doctor was unable to tell him whether or not his
prostate disease had developed into cancer and also informed him that BPH was incurable, even with the various drugs.
Of course, Ben
now knows this is nonsense, but at the time, intimidated, he
simply booked a follow-up appointment and headed home, upset and nervous.
As many people know, doctors can be very intimidating and they also have ulterior motives.
Once home, looking at the faces of his
beloved family, Ben
decided that he
was going to do his
own research, that he
wasn't willing to just hand his
fate over to another person.
sat down in his
kitchen and began planning a research project.
It wasn't the first he
had ever done, (if you have been in business long enough you will eventually undertake a research project), but it was the largest, and it is a research project that is still going on today.
Being a technically-minded individual, Ben
started with western medical science's approach to the prostate, assuming that his
doctor had simply been mistaken or ill-informed. 15 years ago was not the nice information-friendly age of the internet that we all enjoy today.
Nope, this was the hard graft era of libraries, printed research journals and conferences.
bought or borrowed every good book on the prostate, he
spoke to doctors, pharmaceutical reps, pharmacists, researchers, educators, naturopathic practitioners, university professors and men who had prostate health problems.
attended teleseminars, conferences and traveled to meet people all over the world, all the time subscribed to and reading every single piece of prostate-related research and every new study.
It's fair to say that if you had any information on prostate health 15 years ago or were involved in the treatment of prostate disease, then you probably received a letter or spoke to Ben
at some point.
actually discovered terrified and appalled him.
Medical science only offered insidious pharmaceuticals, whose only effects were to hide the symptoms until they got so bad that the patient was forced into dangerous and expensive surgeries.
Worse than being ineffectual, these toxic treatments were causing more problems than they solved and ruining men's lives and sex lives.
It was this exact moment that Ben
realized that conventional medicine and the big pharmaceutical companies had betrayed men.
They are more interested in curing your enlarged wallet than curing your enlarged prostate.
With toxic treatments being all he
could get from Big Pharma, Ben
attention to alternatives.
Every part of his
research was telling him that the disease should not only be easily treatable and reversible, but should have been preventable.
Because there was no money in a cure or a preventative the big pharmaceutical companies were not interested in researching one, but Ben
research eventually led him to discover a more natural, holistic, kinder and integrative approach to treating prostate diseases.
Less than a year later, Ben
had cured himself and restored his
prostate to good health.
Relaxed, happy and healthy with his
family at home, one day Ben
realized with a smile that he
had forgotten to ever attend that follow-up appointment with the doctor.
project Ben had researched almost every prostate supplement on the market, and there are hundreds of them.
ended up personally testing most of them, in order to judge the effects (or lack of) for himself.
The best ones he
sent to private laboratories to be tested, to see if they were really any good.
soon realized was that most were incomplete, and many were actually expensive rubbish in fancy packaging.
Today Ben is a leading authority on the prostate, a 15-year veteran of the war on prostate disease and a best-selling author on the subject.
speaks truth to power and advocates for real, safe and effective treatment options for men.
has a huge community of followers and every single day he
writes to them to keep them current on all the latest research and news.
Patients, medical professionals and customers routinely rely on him to break down research, properly interpret it and place it in current scientific content.
Every day, his
clinical nutrition team spends a lot of time examining the latest studies.
never really found time to retire.
Now aged 75, all his
kids have grown up and begun living their own lives.
did, however, find time to slow down and spend some peaceful quality time with his
