Ben Lev(Guitar, Vocals)
...
Ben Lev was born at a very early age. As a young boy his only comfort was listening to top 40 radio. Growing up in Chicago he was exposed to blues music and after moving to Sacramento he soon begin to impress girls with his surf guitar prowess. In high school he played in some popular cover bands and also learned country from a bandmate's dad. At 18 he played lead guitar for the Coasters (Poison Ivy, Yakity Yak, Charlie Brown)
By the late 60's Ben was in L.A. playing original hard rock bass. In the early 70's he gained a full scholarship to Oscar Robinson's Oak Park Conservatory where he learned theory, composition, and street funkiness. He also learned how to make a living playing music. He cashed in on the disco craze and the urban cowboy phase playing coast to coast in numerous road bands. He worked with many legendary artists and had a great time !
Ben still plays casino gigs as well as local fairs and festivals and is now a proud member of the Gordon Groft Blues,Rock and Jazz Bands, Briefcase Full Of Blues ( A Salute To The Blues Brothers ) and XMPT, an R&B funk band. You can occasionally hear him doing some chicken pickin' on his telecaster with 'Rockin Country' at the Live Oak Tavern.
