NEWARK -- Five months after starting her post as head administrator at Newark Junior High School, Belen Magers is now the school's permanent principal. Without much discussion, school board trustees at Tues-day night's board meeting unanimously appointed Magers, who had been serving as interim principal since November.

...Magers was a vice principal in the New Haven school district for five years before becoming principal at Graham Elementary School in 1998. Since joining Newark Junior High in November, the school has added three student groups, provided more lunchtime activities and is forming a parent organization, Magers said.

The words "supporters" and "other camp" were in quotation marks, Magers
said, because she
was quoting phrases used by other people.
