Becky Gleason, Art Instructor
Becky Gleason is a self-taught artist who at a very young age knew that creating art was going to be her passion.
A native Minnesotan, Becky has a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from the University of Minnesota.
moved to Chicago in 1984 and developed her
own hand painted furniture and home accessories business, which included selling to Hotels and Boutiques nationwide.
Since 1994, she
has focused on painting on canvas and paints on a commission basis.
Becky's style of painting ranges from Impressionism to Realism.
talent for recognizing beauty in what seems to be all places and times feeds her
creativity and self-expression.
Favorite themes include women and their empowerment and communication, classic landscapes, and views of gracious living and beautiful surroundings.
As a collector of inspirational wisdom and images, she often incorporates words, thoughts and symbolism into her work as part of her creative expression.
believes that through consistent observation and practice, she
has developed her
own style of art.
goal is to "create with joy," and tap into the creative stream of consciousness that allows artists to feel suspended in time and place as they create their art.
is dedicated to serving a long list of civic organizations by donating her
artwork for fundraising purposes, including The Field Museum of Chicago, Junior league of Chicago, Chicago Abused Women and Children Coalition and the Illinois Children's Aid Society
Having moved to North Carolina in 2003, Becky
has continued to support The Dove House, Hope at the Point, Iredell County Children's Home and the National Kidney Foundation of North Carolina
by donating her
works for auction.
She loves teaching for Explore at our Cornelius location and maintains a studio at ArtWorks on Main in Mooresville, North Carolina.
