Bea Douglas was born and raised in Bexley, Ohio, - a suburb of Columbus.
A true Buckeye, she graduated from Ohio State with a BA in Social Adm.; and, later, a MA in Education.
She started teaching at the Lab School at OSU - as a kindergarten assistant; later, she taught in the Columbus Public Schools and in Tuppers Plains, where she was an elementary school principal.
continued this role in Lorain, Ohio while raising two boys, who were a handful and a joy.
After retiring, Bea ran for the Lorain, Ohio, Board of Education; serving as president in 1989.
She was a member of the City Charter Commission.
After a year as president of the Lakeland Woman's Club, she moved to Naples, FL. where she headed the Naples Players Theatre Guild when the group took the QE 2 to see the renovated Globe Theater in London.
