The 28-bed Bayard H. Friedman Progressive Care Unit is being named in honor of former Fort Worth mayor and humanitarian, Bayard H. Friedman, who passed away on October 3, 1998.The Friedman Family will have the honor of cutting the ribbon, which will be fashioned in the style of a bow tie, Mr. Friedman' s signature apparel. The dedication ceremony will include a reception in the atrium, as well as a tour of the unit, which is located on the fourth floor of Building A. Mrs. Friedman served as honorary chairman of the campaign. Linbeck Construction Corporation was the general contractor on the project, and Quorum Architects, Inc., designed the facility. Friedman, who was a strong supporter of All Saints, was appointed to the Fort Worth City Council in 1962 and was chosen by the Council to be mayor in 1963 at age 36.During his one term, he was instrumental in the development of D/FW International Airport. He later served as Chairman of The Fort Worth National Bank, and served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Texas Christian University. He headed the campaign for the Nancy Lee and Perry R.
