As Chief Marketing Officer at Sidley Austin LLP, Barry oversees business development, marketing and communications strategies across 19 offices spanning the United States, Europe and Asia. Barry leads a global business development team including practice support, client development, strategic planning, market research, competitive intelligence and analysis and training; a marketing department including events, budgeting and alumni relations; and a communications team including branding, public relations, external, internal and digital communications and graphics and creative services.
Barry also began his career at Sidley where he was a lawyer focused on commercial transactions. He left Sidley to help found Interface Software, the maker of InterAction. When LexisNexis acquired Interface Software, Barry joined LexisNexis where he served in several roles including the general manager of two subsidiaries, InterAction and Martindale-Hubbell. Barry left LexisNexis and became the Chief Marketing Officer of Microsystems, a leader in document productivity solutions for major law firms, before returning to Sidley.
