Barry was cast as the male lead in the original Broadway production of "Hair. Once again his voice was heard proclaiming the ideals of a radical generation. In the late 1980's Barry spent two years performing in New Zealand as an ambassador for World Vision generating thousands of sponsors for third world children and singing at dozens of public schools with three to four hundred local children each night performing on stage with him. It was "Green Green", "Big Rock Candy Mountain", "All It Really Is, Is Love", and closing the show with his favorite song of the evening, "Don't Rubbish The Children".
Barry is currently doing his new show, "Trippin' The Sixties" with John York, formerly with 'The Byrds'.

It starts where Barry started; co-writing "Green Green" with Randy Sparks, and recording it with the New Christy Minstrels (their first gold record).
