She spent four years in the U.S. Navy prior to attending college. She holds an A.A. degree in Office Education from Tallahassee Community College. She has a B.S. degree in Business Education and a M.Ed. in Counseling Education from Florida A&M University. She is currently a freelance writer, an independent publisher (Amani Publishing, LLC), and an active member of the Tallahassee Writer's Association. Barbara spends her spare time traveling as a motivational speaker or conducting seminars and workshops on writing, publishing, and marketing.
