Barbara Brunzell Senior Producer + Media Manager
Barbara brings a wealth of media, public relations, writing, production, artistic talent and experience to Marketing Breakthroughs.
A classically trained actress with a diploma in the Theatre Arts from George Brown College in Toronto, Barbara began her career in the arts and entertainment field. After more than a decade as a performer, she ventured back to school, where she worked her way through the Bachelor of Journalism program at Carleton University as a freelance public relations specialist and broadcaster. The Senate Medal and a degree with honours was the result.
Combining her extensive knowledge of the arts and her training as a journalist, she spent the next seven years at the CBC, where she assumed a variety of roles in both radio and television, including news reporter, arts and entertainment reporter, producer, and host. She was also the driving force behind piloting a national arts unit that produced a long list of award-winning documentaries and specials for the CBC. A Gracie Award, Blizzard Award and Gemini nomination are just a small sample of the plaques sitting on her mantle.
Following her extensive career in broadcasting and the stage, Barbara is now a valued creative force in helping the clients of Marketing Breakthroughs achieve their goals and dreams.

Board ChairSusan Annis introduced Barbara Brunzell the newly appointed Director of Development and Communications who will be responsible for expanding OACF funding sources and improving OACF communications and outreach. Both Minister Meilleur and Minister Watson spoke passionately about their support of the arts in our community, the new Director was eloquent in what she hoped to accomplish on behalf of the OACF, and the reception finished with an up-beat, slam-poetry performance by Oni the Haitian Sensation.
