"All this attention is unfair," said Barbara Graves, a board member at North College Hills City Schools who went to both rallies.
"We are a small community and we're getting a bad rap." Graves said the beating "is not what North College Hill is about." She said out of 1,500 students enrolled in the district's schools, just 600 went to school Friday, adding that parents were nervous about the National Alliance rally.

Barb Graves
Barbara Graves, current president, has served on the North College Hill Board of Education for the past eleven years. She grew up in West College Hill and moved to North College Hill in 1982. She and husband, Maurice, are both NCH graduates and wanted their children to attend NCH schools. Her three daughters are graduates of NCH Jr-Sr High School. Two of her grandchildren attend North College Hill Schools. After volunteering in the schools, Mrs. Graves felt the need for a positive and proactive liaison between the parents and the schools - she has aspired to be that voice. Barbara's involvement includes Board Leadership Institute, Legislative Liaison, OSBA Captial Conference Delegate, Great Oaks Advisory Board (Teaching and Learning) and the Dress Code Committee. She would like to see an improvement in student achievement and help change the community's perception of the schools in a positive way.
