Great news!According to the information that Suaram
received at 3.10pm, Ustaz Badrul Amin
, one of the reform movement and National Justice Party leader, Dr. Badrul Amin
, will be released today.According to the family of Dr. Badrul Amin, they received a phone call from the warden of the Kamunting Detention Camp, informing them that Dr. Badrul Amin will be released today.
However, no reason was given for his
release.No sign of early release as well for the other ISA detainees.
The family of Dr. Badrul Amin
is now on their way to Kamunting Detention Camp
, which is about 3 ½ hour drive from Kuala Lumpur.

Dr Badrul Amin Baharom , a Supreme Council member of keADILan and its Youth EXCO becomes the latest casualty of ISA.He was detained at his house around 2 am this morning.
So far eight has been arrested - all of them are reformasi and keADILan leaders.Police is looking for several other activists.
According to his
wife , about 20 policemen surrounded the house and entered at around 1.15 am.They took away the former law lecturer at International Islamic University
approximately 45 minutes later.She
said the husband was detained under Section 8 of the Act , just like the other detainees.

Those detained were arrested without warrant and denied access to their lawyer and families.Under the ISA , the police are not required to produce those detained before magistrates.Until now , police have not released any official information regarding the whereabouts of the detainees.The request by the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia
( Suhakam ) to visit those detained has received no response from the authorities.
Subsequently , five of the detainees , Keadilan vice-president Tian Chua , Youth leaders Mohamad Ezam Mohd Nor and Saari Sungib , Free Anwar Campaign ( Freeanwar.com ) webmaster Raja Petra Raja Kamaruddin and social activist-cum-malaysiakini columnist Hishamuddin Rais filed their habeas corpus application.
