Candle lighting and and some silly stuff led by Aviva
With ritual leader and co-founder Aviva Goldberg guiding us, and Daniela Gesundheit leading chazzanut, the community participated in prayer, singing and discussion throughout the Days of Awe.
We were inspired by the wise words of our sermon givers, including Aviva
and other members.
We were led by our lay Rabbinic leader, Aviva Goldberg
, and our chazzan, Daniela Gesundheit.
Shavuot was celebrated at this free all-night learning event, co-sponsored by Congregation Shir Libeynu and included a presentation by our leader, Aviva Goldberg, "The Art of Midrash: A Photographer's Queer Perspective"(11:00 p.m. to midnight - Second Session) - an examination and critique of contemporary Midrash as expressed through selected works of our late member, Oscar Wolfman.
will speak alongside other members of the Toronto community who have experience in these matters.
For this service, we will also be presenting and using our new Torah cover (mantle), which hasbeen donated by Aviva Goldberg
and Dinah Rosen and family, in memory of Dinahand Aviva's parents.
