Atle Aadland, B.Eng., M.Eng.
Vice President, Offshore Newfoundland, Statoil Canada Ltd. Atle Aadland holds a MS Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Stavanger. As Vice President for Statoil Canada Offshore Newfoundland, he is responsible for Statoil's East Coast Canada production and development in offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, Statoil operated assets, as well as the company's joint-venture assets. In this role, Atle also leads the company's regional regulatory and commercial affairs, and emergency response for Statoil's offshore exploration activities in Canada's East Coast. In his role with Statoil Canada, Aadland brings considerable offshore development experience. Aadland has a 28-year-long career with Statoil, and before joining Statoil Canada Offshore Newfoundland, spent five years as platform manager on Statoil's Snorre A, offshore Norway. He has management experience from early phase projects, offshore development projects and production operations and has worked internationally in both the United Kingdom and Ireland. Actively involved in industry development, Aadland sits on the Board of Directors for Petroleum Research Newfoundland & Labrador and is a member of the Atlantic Canada Executive Policy Group for the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers and the Society of Petroleum Engineers, as well as the C-CORE Board, which he joined in 2012.
