At GTG, our A/E professionals actively pursue opportunities to stay current with new construction technology and techniques. Ashley McDuffee, who joined GTG in early 2014 from a building-envelope consulting firm, recently did her part, attending the 15th Annual Hawaii Winter Workshop, RCI SoCal Chapter, on the island of Maui. Ashley A. McDuffee is an active member of RCI and is an RCI-certified Registered Exterior Wall Consultant and a Registered Roof Observer.

Assistant Project Engineer Ashley Aiken McDuffee, EI, LEED® AP Assistant Project Engineer Ms. McDuffee joined Stafford Consulting Engineers and is currently working as an Assistant Project Engineer in the Raleigh office. While earning her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering at Bucknell University, Ms. McDuffee served as the student representative on the steering committee for Bucknell University's J. Paul Getty Trust Campus Heritage Project and Preservation Plan. In her historic preservation graduate program, Ms. McDuffee focused her studies on building pathology, materials conservation and building diagnostics and monitoring. Ms. McDuffee presented her Masters thesis entitled "Evaluating the Threat of Environmental Change on Historic Resources: A Case Study and Assessment of Tools" at the 2007 conference for the Association for Preservation Technology International. While working toward her graduate degree, Ms. McDuffee interned at an engineering firm in San Francisco, California where she was introduced to building envelope design and review and developed a strong interest in building science, especially as it pertains to historic buildings. Prior to joining Stafford Consulting Engineers, Ms. McDuffee worked for an engineering firm in Seattle, Washington when she gained experience in performing building condition assessments, investigative testing, window performance testing, data logger monitoring and construction administration. She was also responsible for developing building envelope details, peer-reviewing construction documents, and composing site visit, testing and assessment reports for various projects. In addition, her historic preservation background enabled her to provide historic materials consultation on several heritage projects.
