Arthur E. NasonArthur E. Nason , 80 , of Yuba City died Jan. 3 , 2001 , at his residence.Born in Santa Cruz , he was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 53 years.He was a music teacher and elementary school principal in the Yuba City Unified School District , working for 33 years , and retired in 1979 as principal of King Avenue School.He was a 1937 graduate of Williams High School and earned a degree at Chico State College.In addition , he was a 43-year member of the Yuba City Kiwanis Club , a member of the Yuba-Sutter Retired Teachers Association and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.Survivors include his wife , Ruth Nason of Yuba City ; a son , Fred Nason of Yuba City ; three daughters , Sandy Griffin of Cupertino and Marla Forrest and Janet Finley , both of Chico ; eight grandchildren ; and two great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by two brothers , Wilbur Nason and Don Nason , and two sisters , Ora Gobel and Barbara Davis.Donations may be made to the Marysville First Christian Church , 808 Eighth St. , Marysville CA 95901 ; or Fremont-Rideout Valley Hospice , 319 G St. , Marysville CA 95901.
