That is the question which will guide a public dialogue that ActionAid is hosting on the 21st June, 2pm, at Colline Hotel in Mukono.

Since the Marriage and Divorce Bill was effectively shelved on the 8th April, everybody has seemingly forgotten about the bill and the heated media rave that led to its abortion.

ActionAid still sees the proposed bill as a stepping stone for equity and equality, thus a necessity for Uganda’s development aspirations, both in the National Development Plan and the Vision 2040.

ActionAid Uganda Country Director Arthur Larok says:

“In essence this bill is good for our country.

ActionAid Uganda Country Director Arthur Larok says:

“Despite the trends of events, the quest for freedom and democracy in Uganda is continuing.
