Arthur "Art" Hasselbrink, Founder & President
was born a patriot with a fervent love for his
country, and for those who put themselves in harm's way to protect her
At the young age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater from 1943 to 1946 as a Navy Seabee.
Art served with the 105th U.S.
Naval Construction Battalion at Miline Bay and Hollandia in New Guinea, and Leyte in the Philippines; 33rd Naval Construction Battalion at Iwo Jima and Okinawa in Japan, and 29th Naval Construction Battalion at Truck Islands until the end of the war.
Following WWII, Art remained in the United States Navy as a reservist, while attending Northwestern University.
Art graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
In 1949, Art
was recalled to serve in the Korean War.
In 1952, Art
honorable discharge from the United States Navy
Upon his return to the states from Korea, Art joined the LAPD and served the citizens of Los Angeles from 1952 to 1960, before starting his own construction company in 1961.
Art is also a past president of the Orange County Navy League and the Wilshire Community Police Council.
He also served on the advisory board for the Salvation Army.
In 2005, Art
helped found Homefront America, along with Mamie Yong Maywhort.
So,with the blessings of her husband, Adam, Homefront America
was launched with Art
and Mamie as co-founders.
