to act as Ambassador for BCA
The Business Council for Africa (West and Southern) is pleased to announce that Mr Arnold Ekpe has accepted an invitation to become the Council's first Honorary President.
will act as a figurehead and ambassador promoting the Council's mission, values and objectives and offering thoughts and advice.

In December 2012, Arnold retired as chief executive officer of the Ecobank Group after two periods at the helm, from 1996 to 2001 and from 2005 to 2012.
In these fifteen years he
overcame many early teething problems and was able to build and mould the first truly African-owned private sector pan-African bank.
He left Ecobank having grown it into a resilient African institution with a presence in 32 sub-Saharan countries, assets of $17.2bn and a customer base of over 8.4m.
has also worked in Europe, South Africa and West Africa for Citibank, First Chicago and United Bank for Africa
He holds a first class degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration from Manchester University and Manchester Business School respectively.
is married with three children and lives in Oxford, South Africa and Lagos.
travels extensively, lecturing on and promoting pan-African private-sector initiatives in pursuit of his
