Mr Bagri replaces outgoing HEFCE board member Rene Olivieri and his appointment is with effect from 1 March 2014.

He was awarded an honorary doctorate from City in 2006 and is a graduate in Business Administration from Cass Business School, where he is a Visiting Professor.
As Chair of Council he
made significant improvements to the University's Governance structure and played a major role in developing the City Vision 2016 and the subsequent Strategic Plan.
Deputy Chairman of London Business School's Governing Body since 2006, Mr Bagri has recently been appointed as the new Chairman, succeeding Sir John Ritblat who stands down on 1 May 2014.
