Prof. Antonio Siccardi
Prof. Antonio Siccardi started his scientific career with an eight years long scientific "field trip" which brought him to many different laboratories on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean before returning to Italy, where A. Siccardi became Assistant Professor first of Genetcis and then of Microbiology at the University of Pavia.
After a brief parenthesis in Rome, he became full professor at University of Milan, position that he still holds today.
work then focused mainly on a most recent plague: AIDS.
Indeed, form 1991 to 1998 Antonio
coordinated the HIV/AIDS basic research at the San Raffaele Scientifc Institute, Milan
After giving his
contribute to this hot field, he
then turned to investigate the immunology of tumors.
Apart from being a brilliant scientist, professor Siccardi is also a talented artist.
