Dr. Anthony (Tony) Naldrett, Dr. Naldrett is an internationally-recognized authority on the geology, mineralogy and chemistry of magmatic sulphide ore deposits. He has authored or co-authored more than 244 referred publications and written or edited seven books on magmatic sulphide deposits. His research has covered most of the world's major nickel-copper-PGM deposits and districts. His work has enhanced our understanding of the dynamic processes which formed the giant nickel-copper-PGM deposits at Noril'sk and identified the North American Mid-Continent Rift as being highly prospective for additional conduit-hosted magmatic nickel-copper-PGM deposits. He is currently Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto where he continues his research on magmatic sulphide deposits. He has most recently served as Honorary Professor in the School of Geosciences, University of Witwatersrand, and as an Honorary Research Fellow of the UK's Natural History Museum in London.

Dr. Tony Naldrett , , Ph.D. , Advisory Board Member Dr. Naldrett is a member of the Company's Advisory Board. He is presently professor emeritus at the University of Toronto, after a career spanning more than forty years. Dr. Naldrett's research has focused on magmatic sulphide deposits, the magmas from which they have formed, the origin of these magmas in the mantle, the chemistry controlling the segregation of sulphides from the magma, and the subsequent separation of minerals from the cooling sulphides that are important in the beneficiation of the ores. He has been on the ground of all the significant nickel sulphide deposits in the world. His understanding of these very complex systems is unparalleled and this remarkable on the ground experience has resulted in his authoring, or co-authoring, over 240 refereed papers and 8 books. He has also served as President of the Mineralogical Association of Canada, the Society of Economic Geologists, the International Mineralogical Association and the Geological Society of America and as Chairman of UNESCO's International Geological Cooperation Programme.
