About Annabelle Garland
Psychotherapist and Grief Counsellor
Annabelle Garland is a psychotherapist and grief counsellor.
She received her Masters of Counselling with a speciality in counselling psychology from the Campus Alberta, a combined program of the Universities of Calgary, Athabasca and Lethbridge in Alberta.
offers individual psychotherapy and grief counselling working with the total person incorporating body, mind and spirit.
areas of counselling focus on helping individuals with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, childhood issues, self-esteem, accident, disability, pain or illness, rehabilitation, aging and life transition and relationships.
incorporates a variety of modalities including hypnosis to facilitate change.
also works issues such as anger management, body image, weight and smoking cessation.
Believing in the power of each individual Annabelle
teaches individuals how to access their own internal resources and teaches self- management skills.
Annabelle is currently on the faculty of the University of Toronto School of Social Work and The Canadian Centre for Bereavement Education and Counselling and teaches a post-graduate certificate course on bereavement education.
For a number of years, Annabelle was on the faculty of George Brown Community College and taught courses on death and dying.
Active in community work, Annabelle
has been as both an advisor and facilitator of bereavement groups with Bereaved Families of Ontario and a professional counsellor with the Survivor Support Program of the Toronto Distress Centre
currently provides services to organizations as well as individuals and offers grief education.
also offers workshops and clinical education on stress management and self care to health care organizations including nursing homes and to community agencies.
