Anna Brewer, Women's Fund of Omaha
This training will enable the audience to "realize" that Human Trafficking exists in our community; it will enable the audience to "recognize" signs of Human Trafficking; and Anna Brewer will offer venues through which the audience can "respond" to affect change and report incidents, once they "realize" and "recognize" that Human Trafficking happens in our communities. Anna Brewer was selected as an Honors Intern at the FBI in Washington DC in 1990, and joined the FBI's staff as a professional support employee in 1992. In 1995, upon graduating the FBI Training Academy at Quantico, Virginia, Anna was promoted to a Special Agent. Anna served as an FBI Special Agent from 1995 until 2015. As a Special Agent assigned in Reno, Nevada, Anna established and managed an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and established and managed a child exploitation task force to combat child sex trafficking. In 2006, Anna was selected as an original member of the FBI's Child Abduction Rapid Deployment (CARD) Team and traveled throughout the United States to investigate child abductions. Anna served as the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit Coordinator and, in that capacity, worked with threat assessment, threat analysis, and traveled throughout the United States to educate the community regarding incidents of violence in the workplace and at institutions of higher education. In 2009, she transferred to the FBI Office in Omaha, Nebraska, where Anna initiated and led the effort to establish and operate what became known as the Omaha Child Exploitation Task Force, a standing multi-agency task force dealing with sex trafficking and sexual exploitation of children. In Omaha, Anna continued on the FBI's CARD Team and as NCAVC Coordinator in Omaha. Anna currently works as a Human Trafficking Training Consultant with the Women's Fund of Omaha, at times in conjunction with the Nebraska Human Trafficking Task Force, and volunteers with various non-profit organizations and faith groups, including the Coalition On Human Trafficking (Omaha), to educate the community regarding human trafficking. Anna accepted a temporary position at Midland University as a Professor in the School of Arts and Science and taught Intersession 2017.

Former FBI agent Anna Brewer investigated trafficking cases for more than 20 years, including work out of the Omaha-area office.
She says the Interstate drives trafficking in Nebraska. "They can just stop at a rest stop, knowing that they don't have to move, that the business is going to come to them," Brewer says.
