Using Skype makes the interaction between teachers and parents "a lot more personal than a phone call" because it is face-to-face contact, said Papillion- La Vista South High School media specialist Anna Bley.
"It gives a unique opportunity to take our students outside of the school," Bley said.

Shout out to Anna Bley, Papillion-La Vista South High School!
Anna has gone out of her way to promote reading and literacy for the students at IDEAL. In addition to presenting quarterly book talks that spark the students' interest in a variety of genres, Anna has also partnered with IDEAL and UNO to offer students a Book Club. Anna leads Book Club along with UNO media specialist graduate students and their professor. Students read and discussed three contemporary novels in six lunch-time meetings. The positive impact on our students is enormous. One Book Club student commented about how she had never participated in extracurricular before, so she was so excited to be a part Book Club.
