...Ann Gleeson, Director, External RelationsAnn Gleeson joined the Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative as its first Director of External Relations in February 2002.Ms. Gleeson
works to increase understanding among federal legislators for the potential therapeutic benefits of tissue engineering technologies, while raising awareness of the Pittsburgh region's important leadership within this emerging field of biomedicine.Prior to this she was senior staff for legislative affairs to Congressman William J. Coyne for 20 years.
As a policy analyst for Congressman Coyne she
established legislative priorities as they related to his
committee assignment on the Ways and Means Committee
, managed communications with state and federal funding agencies, and guided assessment of strategic ventures to increase national activities and partnerships in western Pennsylvania A native of Pittsburgh, Ms. Gleeson earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Seton Hill College, and a Master of Science degree in Applied History and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.Ms. Gleeson
