Clarksville , TN , Aug. 8, 2005 - Angela Griffin has been hired as the new job specialist for the Clarksville Employment and Training Center . She will help people develop job training skills and assist with job placement specifically in the Clarksville area. "Angela is a strong employment specialist from Clarksville who knows how to work with our clients and knows the local employers," said Betty Johnson , Goodwill vice president of employment and training.
...Griffin brings many years of experience in the field.She worked for 11 years with the Department of Human Services before joining another agency as an employment career specialist.
"Everybody deserves the opportunity to be self sufficient and improve their quality of life," said Griffin
. "I'm proud to provide the training which will help people reach their goals." Griffin
will work with clients on developing basic computer skills, creating resumes, job readiness skills and assist with job leads.The service is designed for unemployed/underemployed individuals who have disabilities or other barriers to employment, including being chronically unemployed, a dislocated worker, a welfare recipient, an at risk youth, homeless, etc. Griffin

husband Michael have six children and have lived in Clarksville for two years.Angela is involved in a number of community activities, including working as President of the Board for Adult Literacy Council; Chamber of Commerce volunteer; Director for the Clarksville Civitan Club and is on the advisory committee for "The Source," a Web site affiliated with the Department of Labor and Workforce Development.Griffin also serves on the Military Affairs Committee.
