Angela was previously Director of Families Outside which works on behalf of prisoners' families from 2003 to 2007 and prior to that spent 20 years working in mental health and community care latterly as Depute Chief Executive at the Scottish Association for Mental Health.
Angela undertook postgraduate training in Social Work at the University of London, worked for London Borough of Camden social services and then Mind Waltham Forest where she worked in one of the first initiatives to close a large institution and move people with mental health problems into their own homes prior to moving to Scotland in the late 80s.
Angela has been involved in a range of policy and implementation groups associated with mental health, childrens services and youth and adult justice and is currently a member of the National Youth Justice Strategy Group. She is a board member of the Coalition of Care and Support Providers Scotland and represents CCPS on the Partnership Group of the Centre for Excellence for Looked after Children in Scotland (CELCIS).
