OPS signature member page Andrew Wages While a young boy, Andrew Wages wandered the hills of southern Oklahoma. After his family moved to Texas he developed an interest in art. Encouraged by his teachers, he attended Art Center College of Design, graduating with honors. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Lee, and was off to New York City to apprentice as an illustrator to one of the commercial art studios. He was drafted by the army and served as an illustrator in Fourth Army Recruiting. He then worked as a freelance illustrator in Dallas for thirty-five years. But for the past fifteen years, Andrew has followed his dream and has been painting landscapes, still lifes, portraits and figurative works. He has taught at SMU and El Centro, as well as private lessons, critiques and workshops. Andrew has two children and two granddaughters.
