Andrew Tinsley, our newest member of Construction Engineering Consultants, is a native of Knoxville, TN.
Since his attendance at the University of Tennessee in 2003, and has since earned a Bachelor of Science as well as his Master's degree in Civil Engineering, with Construction Engineering Concentration.
Mr. Tinsley is currently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering and expects to have his degree granted in December of 2008.
plans to do his
dissertation work in the use of structural deformations of steel to locate the point of origin of fires.
In addition to the course work, Andrew also serves as a graduate research and teaching assistant at the University of Tennessee.
has been involved with several TDOT
(Tennessee Department of Transportation) sponsored research projects.
Most recently, he
has been a large part of the development of a high durability concrete mix for use on Tennessee's bridge decks.
has been actively involved in the Karns Volunteer Fire Department since 2003.
In that position, he has served as a firefighter, apparatus operator, emergency medical technician, and part-time training instructor.
position in the department has led him to do much personal training in fire science, fire dynamics, cause and origin determination as well as virtually every other aspect of firefighting.
He was recently promoted to Lieutenant over the department's main station and continues to serve in that function.
