Andrea Koweek, a resident of Sonoma, California, is a cook and culinary instructor.She
has taught hundreds of students the basics of cooking and continues to inspire people to enjoy their time in the kitchen.Most recently Andrea was the Chef at Napa's luxury Inn, 1801 First.She
was fortunate to be able to bake and cook for a small group of eager guests each day, using as many local, organic ingredients as possible.The selections she
offered can best be described as breakfast with a "gourmet twist."She
takes some traditional breakfast ingredients and presents them in a decidedly untraditional manner.
A graduate of the California Culinary Academy
, Andrea's first passion was baking and pastry.Later in her career she was fortunate to continue her education with an intensive apprentice program in Southwest France.Andrea cooked at the Pan Pacific Hotel, Postrio, and worked as Thomas Keller's assistant at The French Laundry.
...Andrea was the Culinary Manager at Ramekins Cooking School in Sonoma, California for more than four years.She
worked with home cooks every day as they learned new skills.She
had the opportunity to cook with guest chefs from all around the country and solidify her
knowledge about numerous cuisines and subjects.Andrea
has taught hundreds of students in team-building events and has taught classes in subjects ranging from Soufflés to Successful Entertaining.
One of her
other passions is recipe development and writing.Andrea developed the menus for the private events at Ramekins and worked as a recipe tester for John Ash's new cookbook, Cooking One on One.
has participated in and cooked for many large food festivals such as the Sonoma Showcase
of Food and Wine and the Sonoma Salute to the Arts.She
has represented Sonoma products at the Food and Wine Classic at Aspen and assisted Chef John Ash at a James Beard Foundation's
Journalism Award dinner. Andrea
has a warm accessible manner and her
style generates confidence in her
love of cooking, combined with enthusiasm and a sense of humor ensures that all her
students will enjoy their time with her
