Hobbies that look great on your rsum - Business Insider
Companies may also appreciate seeing a hobby on your rsum if it's related to the job you're pursuing, Ana Recio, senior vice president of Global Recruiting at Salesforce, tells Business Insider.
"Giving back is one of our core values at Salesforce, so if someone lists volunteering as a hobby, we know that they're more likely to be a good culture fit," Recio says.
Invaluable advice from super-successful business leaders - Business Insider
Ana Recio, Head of Recruiting for Salesforce
When Ana Recio says "don't boil the ocean," she means that a setting a clear strategy from the beginning can cut out a lot of unnecessary work down the line. "Be smart. Hone in on the root of the problem to figure out what will really move the needle," she says.
Salesforce exec shares a favorite interview question - Business Insider
If this isn't convincing enough, you might consider taking a cue from Ana Recio, the senior vice president of global recruiting at Salesforce.
Recio, who leads a global team of more than 350 people, hires more than 8,000 people a year, and has 20 years of hiring experience at tech companies like Salesforce and Yahoo!, tells Business Insider that she loves to kick off interviews by asking candidates:"What is your favorite pump up song, and why?" "It may seem like just a fun icebreaker, but how they respond also allows you to get a deeper sense of them, and if they might be a good fit with your company's culture," she explains. Luckily for candidates, there is no right or wrong answer to the question. Instead, how they answer can speak volumes about their personality and fit. "Creating and maintaining a strong culture is a top priority for today's companies that want to attract and retain the very best talent, and assessing culture fit is an important aspect of the interview process," Recio says.
Three career experts - Kate Aronowitz, Vice President of design at WealthFront, Ana Recio, Senior Vice President at SalesForce, and Amy Gallo, Contributing Editor of the Harvard Business Review - have dug deep and delivered a bunch of great questions to consider before saying yes.
