Saying Goodbye to Amy Bruner de Rodriguez
Saying Goodbye to Amy Bruner de Rodriguez
In July, the Reading Connections community said goodbye and good luck to Amy Bruner de Rodriguez.
Amy joined Reading Connections in September 2010 as an Administrative Assistant in the Greensboro office and was quickly promoted to Program Assistant. She then was promoted to Family Literacy Assistant and Health Literacy Coordinator. This past year, Amy coordinated the AmeriCorps Project SHINE program throughout Guilford County, was instrumental in assisting Family Literacy Coordinator Teresa McNeill's transition to Reading Connections, and taught parents at one of our Family Literacy sites.
"It was evident," remarks Teresa, "that Amy was in her element as a teacher; she was a natural."
Amy will be greatly missed at Reading Connections; she is committed to the concepts and values that underscore our work - including respect for the individual served, advocacy and the restoration of personal rights and dignity. She has been an outstanding employee and we have relied on her insight and judgment as we served over 1400 participants last year, an all-time agency high. We wish Amy luck as she continues her important work in the community!
