Heitzman Named Chief Learning Officer
Amy Heitzman has been appointed as the Association's first Chief Learning Officer, effective October 3, 2011.
Prior to this appointment, Heitzman served as Executive Director of Continuing and Professional Education at Southern Methodist University.
She has held several leadership positions at UPCEA, including South Regional Chair and Chair of the national Membership Committee and Regional Cabinet.
The addition of Heitzman
to the UPCEA
staff is a key element of a restructuring plan related to how the National Office manages conferences and supports volunteer leadership structures.

As Chief Learning Officer, Heitzman will both support and partner with conference planning committees and volunteer leadership units, facilitate professional networking between face-to-face meetings, and help develop a strategy for web-based professional development offerings.

is nearing completion of her
Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at the University of Texas
She holds an A.B. in Art History from the University of Michigan, an A.M. in Art History from the University of Chicago and an M.Ed. from Southern Methodist University.
plans to relocate with her
family to Washington, D.C. in the summer of 2012.
