Dr. Amy J. Cromer :
Dr. Cromer started working for the original owners of Valley West Animal Hospital, Dr.'s Welty and Matchette, in 1978 as an assistant. She continued working at Valley West Animal Hospital for the next 13 years developing into a Veterinary Technician and finally as a Veterinarian from with the outstanding mentoring from both doctors. During the last part of those years, she also worked as a Technician for the Mesa Veterinary Hospital group and also for the Emergency Animal Clinic. After graduating from Kansas State University in 1993, she went to Southfield, Michigan and did an internship with Michigan Veterinary Specialists. After that she moved to Georgia for a brief stay, then on to Florida where she worked for Panama City Beach Animal Hospital for the next four and a half to five years. Then Dr.'s Welty and Matchette called her from Arizona and asked her to come back to Arizona to purchase and take over Valley West Animal Hospital. During her initial two years back in Arizona, she also worked as an emergency veterinarian at the Emergency Animal Hospital weekends and nights, while working days at Valley West Animal Hospital as Dr.'s Welty and Matchette made the transition for her to take over the practice. Her thoughts were that if the owners were happy, they would follow Dr. Cromer's advice for the best care of their pet. The Clinic still sees many of the owners that were coming when she started in 2003 and we still enjoy visiting with owners and talking about the memories of pets now gone and new ones helping to ease the loss. Now, she is the Office Manager of the clinic. She believes we have a great team working at the clinic, so her position is easy to fill. Dr. Cromer has cared for her precious little Jaime for nine years and is doing great. She hopes to be here for a longer time and that she is able to help all new owners and their pets.
