Amir Shahkarami, P.E.
Chief Executive Officer, Exelon Nuclear Partners, LLC and Senior Vice President, Exelon Generation Company, LLC
is responsible for all domestic and international business development and projects for Exelon Nuclear Partners
Mr. Shahkarami has nearly 30 years of experience in the nuclear industry and over 10 years with Exelon.
He has held other executive positions as the Exelon Nuclear Senior Vice President of Engineering and Technical Services, in which he was responsible for nuclear fuels, engineering, outages, project management, license renewal, industry organizations, innovation and international exchange program; the Vice President of Engineering, where he was the company's chief engineer responsible to provide governance and oversight to Exelon Generation's fleet of 17 nuclear units; and Site Vice President of Braidwood Nuclear Station, where he was responsible for all aspects of safe nuclear plant operations for a dual-unit nuclear station.

Mr. Shahkarami serves as a board member of World Nuclear Association (WNA).
He has been a member of the American Nuclear Society (ANS) since 1992 and serves on its board of directors.
has been the General Chair of ANS ICAPP, Nuclear Fuel, Utility Working Conference and ANS annual Conferences.
He chaired the ANS special committee on the Utility Integration, as well as a member of the ANS Fukushima committee.
Mr. Shahkarami has served as the executive chairman of both the BWR and PWR Owners Groups.
He has been a member of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Nuclear Power Council and its Executive Committee, and has served on EPRI Executive Committees for the PWR Materials Management Program (PMMP) and the BWR Vessel and Internals Project (BWRVIP.) He led the resolution of the industry digital I&C regulatory roadmap and the Alloy 600 pressurizer nozzles mitigation strategy with the USNRC.
was the recipient of the 2008 Chicago United Leadership, 2009 ANS Utility Leadership, and the 2010 World Association of Nuclear Operators
(WANO) Excellence awards.
has been both a peer and the industry advisor of several Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) and WANO plant and corporate evaluations.
was a significant contributor to the INPO Principles of Maintaining and Effective Technical Conscience document.
He has served on the Tulane University, Texas A&M, and Illinois Institute of Technology advisory boards.
Mr. Shahkarami has taught several courses in the areas of Risk Management, Nuclear Safety and Organizational aspect of the nuclear operation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Other civic activities include service on the Will County Center of Economic Development and Chamber of Commerce
, as well as serving as a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Foundation board of directors.
Mr. Shahkarami received his bachelor's and master's degrees in Engineering from Tulane University, his master's in Business Administration from Mississippi College and completed his PhD studies in nuclear engineering at Louisiana State University.
He is a graduate of the Harvard Advanced Management Program as well as the Wharton Leadership Program.
has a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certificate, and completed the INPO Senior Nuclear Plant Manager course.
