For over twenty years neuroscience has been engaged in the study of mindfulness and its effect on brain function. Some studies have suggested that mindfulness, or paying attention to life in the present moment, has been instrumental in stress reduction; improved relationships and positive emotional changes; meaningful engagement in one's vocational responsibilities; and conflict resolution, diversity training and an overall deeper appreciation for life.
