Amber joined the ABC15 team in September 2009, but has spent her entire life in the beautiful Southwest.
Born and raised in Phoenix, Amber said she had a love for the monsoon from a young age, which led her to pursue a career in Meteorology.
She attended the University of Arizona in Tucson and earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Atmospheric Science with a double minor in Math and Journalism.
While at the UA, Amber also worked at the National Weather Service.
She then started her career at KVIA-TV in El Paso, Texas.
In Texas, Amber
was honored with two back-to-back Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Awards for Best Weathercasts in 2007 and 2008.
was also recognized again at the Texas Legislature for these awards in May of 2009 when a house resolution was passed in her
Amber also volunteered her time to help the efforts of the El Paso Extreme Weather Task Force, taught two semesters of meteorology classes at The University of Texas El Paso Center for Lifelong Learning and authored a weather activities book to help teach young children about severe weather safety.
has earned the American Meteorological Society's
Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation, the highest seal attainable for a television meteorologist, and was the 2010 Rocky Mountain Emmy winner for Best Weathercast.
In the summer of 2011, she
was called on to go to New York and fill-in on Good Morning America where she
covered the biggest heat wave of the year across the east coast.

husband Stephen and son SJ and playing with her
two long-haired miniature Dachshunds, Willis and Lilly

time with the Salvation Army
