Allyson Brown - Executive Director
Allyson is thrilled to join OCFA as the Executive Director. A native of Kitsap County, she is now getting to see the community through the eyes of her family (and loves the perspective!). After years in the corporate world, Allyson and her family settled on Bainbridge Island in 2004 when she joined the staff of IslandWood as the Director of Marketing and Community Engagement. One of her greatest accomplishments at IslandWood was working with the team to create community programs that continue to invite thousands to the campus each year. Allyson serves as the co-chair of the Seattle Children's Family Advisory Council, and is active in the community through volunteering in a variety of organizations. She can't wait to help support the future of One Call for All, and loves the role of connecting donors to the organizations that make our lives rich.

Allyson Brown is IslandWood's senior vice president of philanthropy.
Brown said that she was excited to be involved in the project. "Hosting Friends of Fort Ward at IslandWood provides us an exciting opportunity to support and nurture likeminded organizations in our community," Brown said.

"We found it was just so nice to have a woman storyteller at the center," said Allyson Brown, IslandWood's senior vice president for philanthropy, of Strayed's presence.
"She is probably most known for her nature writing," Brown said. The Seattle cast of "Listen to Your Mother" - including IslandWood's own Allyson Brown - will set the tone Friday, sharing stories of motherhood in all of its humor and complexity. "[We're giving women] a lot of chances for self-reflection," Brown said. "[In the past,] we used to do a lot of activities - jewelry making, basket weaving - but we realized that women just want to be together and relax. she added. IslandWood is currently at two-thirds capacity for the event, and Brown anticipates that the 50 remaining spots will go fast, likely by the end of September. She urges interested parties to register online at www.islandwood.org/support-islandwood/fundraising-events/circleoffriends.
