How do you determine what a poor management team is these days , and how much time do you spend actually coming up with that conclusion? -- Allen Romero , vice president of technology , eTango.
A. First of all , a strong management team is the No. 1 factor that we look at.A great idea in the hands of a second-rate management team isn't going anywhere. We look for teams that have a proven track record of leadership and the ability to execute. It's not about M.B.A.s. It's It's about real-world experience. We spend a lot of time doing background checks , looking at their track record and understanding where they have succeeded and where they may have failed.Failure is OK , too , as long as they understand why they failed and what they would do differently.
