"The best way to do it is to go out and do it," Allan Moir, Washington Hose Company dive team leader, said.
"We kept it simple - no boats."
Rescue workers from York County Emergency Management Agency
and the Kennebunk and Kennebunkport fire departments were chest deep in the water Sunday as they practiced lifesaving water rescue techniques.
Moir, Keith Mills, YCEMA's dive team leader, and Kennebunk Deputy Fire Chief Douglas Patey led 14 volunteer rescue workers through the training.
Kennebunk has a mutual aid agreement with the agency and Moir said with Mills, who is a sergeant on the Kennebunkport police department, as the county EMA dive team leader coordinating trainings should be easier.
