A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at the Fort Lewis College Chapel for Alice Bease Mackey Jacobsen, a Durango resident, who died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at her home in Ignacio of emphysema.She was 72.
A reception will follow the service at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 495 Florida Road.
Mrs. Jacobsen was born Oct. 16, 1929, in Culver, Ind.She graduated from Culver High School in 1947 and from nursing school in South Bend, Ind., in 1950.She joined the U.S. Air Force, where she attained the rank of first lieutenant, and served in the Korean War.
She met and married Maj.William George (Jare) Jacobsen while in the Air Force.

Mrs. Jacobsen was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by her daughter, Jaren Jacobsen of Durango; three sons, Charles Mackey Jacobsen of Dover, Del., Eric Jacobsen of Castle Rock, Colo., and Richard Jacobsen of Pueblo, Colo.; a brother, Dr. C.F. Mackey of Brookings, Ore.; and 10 grandchildren.
