Alice Freeman attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison on a 4-year music scholarship and played violin and viola in the University of Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra.
has also played in semi-professional orchestras in Wisconsin and Wyoming.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a teaching certificate and has taken additional courses at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Wyoming.
played viola in the University of Wyoming Symphony
for ten years and has played pedal harp with the UW Symphony since 1999.
Alice was certified as a Healing Musician with the International Healing Musician's Program in 2008, certified as a Therapeutic Harp Practitioner with the International Harp Therapy Program in 2010 and certified as a Clinical Musician with Clinical Musician Certification program in 2012.
currently works part-time for the CMCP as a Mentor for students from Alaska to South Carolina.
maintains a private practice providing soothing harp music at bedside in several local health care facilities.
teaches beginning and intermediate Celtic harp and hammered dulcimer (by ear or with music).
current memberships include the American Harp Society, the World Harp Congress, the International Society of Folk Harpers and Craftsmen, the Scottish Harp Society of America, the Colorado Celtic Harp Society, the Cimbalom World Association

In 2010 Alice was appointed to the Board of Directors for the National Standards Board for Therapeutic Musicians and was elected Treasurer for the Board in 2012.
She has also been on the Board of Directors for the International Society of Folk Harpers and Craftsmen since 2010.
Growing up in a musical family, Alice
had many opportunities to perform classical and folk music on piano, violin, viola and guitar as a child.
loved arranging music for family ensembles.
When her own children were growing up, Alice taught American Red Cross First Aid Classes and worked as a computer software trainer for the University of Wyoming.
The entire family spent many happy weekends downhill skiing.
husband were members of the Snowy Range Volunteer Ski Patrol for over 25 years.
took early retirement from the University in 2007 to devote all her
time to sharing her
