Alexandra Donohoe
Luigi Rosselli Architects welcome Alexandra Donohoe as an in-house Interior Designer.
...
Alexandra has over 10 years experience in interior design, having has worked with several of Sydney's most notable design firms including Bates Smart, SJB, Landini, ARA Design Studio and Paul Kelly Design as well as running her own consultancy - Decus Design.
Underpinning Alexandra's work is a sense of eclecticism; her interiors celebrate bold contrasts, whimsy, luxury and exquisite detail.
Bringing Alexandra's interiors expertise in-house allows the office to provide a more integrated, streamlined experience for our clients, avoiding the problems disparate consultants can cause.
Alexandra has already completed a number of projects with Luigi Rosselli Architects including the Fairfax Road house (pictured) and has several more underway.

Alex Donohoe and Luigi Rosselli…a match made in heaven

...
A keen collector of unique antique and modernist pieces Alexandra makes annual trips to LA and NY to procure pieces for clients, she also makes regular trips to Melbourne to shop at Nicholas & Alistair www.nicholasandalistair.com and if all else fails relies on www.1stdibs.com
Now for the images - just warning you these Luigi houses will evoke serious home envy!!
The gorgeous Alexandra Donohoe of Decus Design and yes she is super friendly as well;)
...
Now onto the amazing interiors - Alexandra has chosen classical pieces to go in this sitting room of the original 1920's house - loving the understated lighting selection for this room which allows the stunning architecture to speak for its self
The view looking back into this stunning room; i am obsessed with the herringbone tile selection - classic yet eclecticÂ
Where the old meets the new; Alexandra has selected more contemporary pieces for this new additionÂ
Wow those wall and ceiling mouldings..would literally die for a corridor like this..or actually just a corridor
and a staircase like this - more amazing light choices (lighting is seriously hard to get right) Alexandra has nailed this pendant light selection - the modernist light expertly marries the old to the new style of this home
...
I am also loving the edging on these mirror cabinets (Alexandra just nails the modern yet classical look every time)
...
Alexandra has expertly softened this contemporary architecture with sheer curtains and more traditional lighting and furniture pieces
Loving this antique wall sconce - who would have thought these antique pieces would look so at home in such a contemporary house? Alexandra manages to nail the mix everytime
...
Such strikingly different style you would never guess that Alexandra did all of these houses which is such a compliment to her design skills; she clearly meets each clients brief individually
Again such clever design; she has used similar materials to the Bellevue Hill house ensuite yet such a different result as clearly the owners have a more modern aesthetic

Mid Week Muse - Decus Design: Alexandra Donohoe
The Principal Designer of Decus Alexandra Donohoe is one lucky lady; she has done the interiors for not one but five of architect Luigi Rosselli designed houses.... But as we all know luck normally goes to those most deserving. When you see Alexander's work you will immediately see that she is worthy. Her impeccable style can be described as eclectic luxe - she celebrates bold contrasts, loves 20th Century design and teams it all together in a whimsical way with exquisite attention to detail.
In my eyes she is a great designer as her eclectic mix ensures that no two homes look the same - she works closely with her clients to ensure that their style shines through so that it looks like their home as opposed to a cookie cut kit home.
Alexander earned her design stripes with a degree in Interior Architecture from UNSW then worked for Sydney's top design firms for over 10 years - she has now opened her own Interior Design firm Decus www.decus.com.au which has their beautiful office just around the corner from us in Paddington St.
