has witnessed many accomplishments, but there's one that she'll never forget.
Shortly after signing on as a physical therapist with Any Baby Can, Alex began working with a two year old boy, Carlos, who wasn't walking.
mother had taken him to a pediatrician and multiple specialists, but no one could give her
was strong and had no physical impairments but hadn't taken a single step.
Frustrated and disheartened, the mother didn't know what to do.
One afternoon as Alex
was working with the family, something amazing happened.
Carlos' older brother, who had cerebral palsy and couldn't use his
legs, was taken out of his
wheelchair to play.
Once out of the wheelchair, he
pulled himself along the floor with his
arms in exactly the way Carlos did.
A light went off in Alex's head.
It wasn't that Carlos couldn't walk; he
was just mimicking his
took Carlos' hands and helped him stand up.

One by one, she
slowly pulled each finger out of his

mother's eyes filled with tears, Carlos took his

Can, and during that time she
has touched the lives of thousands of children and families.
