Alexander GurevichAlexander (Sasha) Gurevich was born in Georgia in the former Soviet Union, and graduated from the Georgian Technical University as a computer engineer.As a journalist, he began by covering armed ethnic conflicts for Ibervision, the first independent TV station formed in Georgia, where his fair reporting was cited by the leader of the country's parliament.In the mid-1990s, he freelanced for Associated Press from Chechnya, and then worked as a field producer/reporter for America-based Internews, which had created a network of independent TV stations in Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia.Gurevich also worked briefly as a United Nations commissioner, investigating human rights violations.
