Alex Van Adzin Joins Mercury Computer Systems as Vice President and General Counsel
CHELMSFORD, Mass., Feb. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY), a leading provider of high-performance computing solutions for HPC and embedded computing markets, announced that Alex A. Van Adzin has joined the Company as its Vice President and General Counsel, reporting to Mercury's President and Chief Executive Officer, Mark Aslett.
Mr. Van Adzin
will lead the overall direction and management of Mercury's legal affairs, which encompass corporate governance, securities law, contracts, M&A-related legal work, regulatory matters, intellectual property, international projects, employment law, and outside legal services.

Mr. Van Adzin's arrival at the Company follows the recent addition of vice presidents of engineering and product operations for Mercury's Advanced Computing Solutions (ACS) core business.
In the short term, Mercury
is working to enhance cash flow by improving and simplifying its supply chain and manufacturing operations.
The Company's strategy for the medium term is centered on strengthening and growing its core defense business by accelerating the development of new products that target larger market opportunities.
To improve its strategic position in the long term, Mercury plans to expand its software and services presence, pursue growth in markets adjacent to defense computing, and seek opportunities to optimize returns from its overall portfolio of businesses.

Mr. Van Adzin joins Mercury from Analogic Corporation, a medical and security technology company, where he was Vice President, General Counsel, Corporation Secretary and Chief Representative of the Company's China Representative Office.
Mr. Van Adzin directed Analogic's legal activities and managed its legal department.
also played a key role in actively handling a wide variety of legal, transactional, contracting, compliance, and regulatory matters.
Prior to this, Mr. Van Adzin was Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporation Secretary at ManagedComp, Inc., a managed-care company, and Vice President and Corporate Counsel at Abex Corporation, an aerospace and automotive equipment company.
He has also worked at the Liberty Mutual Group and at the Boston law firms of Sullivan & Worcester and Gadsby & Hannah.
Mr. Van Adzin
completed a dual-degree program at Harvard University
and Boston University Law School, from which he
received M.C.P. and J.D. degrees.
He holds a B.A. degree from Columbia University.
