Title: Interacting with the Ubiquitous Computer
Albrecht Schmidt , Keynote at Mobile HCI 2003, 10th Sept 2003
Albrecht Schmidt is a researcher with the media informatics group at the University of Munich ( Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Germany).
major research interest is in novel user interfaces and new forms of interaction enabled by Ubiquitous Computing.
Albrecht previously worked as a research associate at Lancaster University in the UK.
In projects under the European Disappearing Computer Initiative and within the EQUATOR Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration in the UK he
explored new interactive systems.
particular interest was on the question how to prototype physical user interfaces at the crossroads of computer science, ethnography, and design.
Formerly Albrecht was a research assistant at the University of Karlsruhe, where he worked on context-aware and sensor-based user interfaces for mobile devices.
He received his PhD in computer science from Lancaster University and studied Computing at the Manchester Metropolitan University (UK) and at the University of Ulm (Germany).
