Albert Porambo, MD
After an epiphany in the Mojave desert while sleeping next to an armored personnel carrier during the summer between his
second and third years at West Point, Dr. Albert Porambo
decided to pursue a career in medicine.
He found himself taking several medical school prerequisites during his senior year, but was able to start medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences after graduation.
Upon graduation, Dr. Porambo became chief of mammography and the department quality improvement coordinator.
then entered the arena of clinical research.
One year later he became chief of the diagnostic radiology service at Walter Reed, where he remains.
has been performing breast MRI exams and MRI-guided breast biopsies since the summer of 2003.
