Prof. Albert Nasibulin
Dr. Albert Nasibulin is a co-founder and a member of Technical Advisory Board of Canatu, a Professor at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology and an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Applied Physics of Aalto University School of Science (former Helsinki University of Technology). He got his PhD in Physical Chemistry (1996) at Kemerovo State University (Russia) and Doctor of Science (Habilitation, 2011) at Saint-Petersburg Technical State University (Russia). He has specialized in the synthesis of nanomaterials and investigation of their growth mechanism. At the moment his main recent research topic is devoted to transparent, flexible and conductive single-walled CNT films and their applications for energy harvesting and storage. He has a successful background in an academic research with over 180 peer-reviewed scientific publications and 15 patents.

His papers include The role of metal nanoparticles in the catalytic production of single-walled carbon nanotubes - a review , Correlation between catalyst particle and single-walled carbon nanotube diameters , Carbon nanotubes and onions from carbon monoxide using Ni(acac) 2 and Cu(acac) 2 as catalyst precursors, An essential role of CO2 and H2O during single-walled CNT synthesis from carbon monoxide , Single-walled carbon nanotube synthesis using ferrocene and iron pentacarbonyl in a laminar flow reactor , and Unambiguous atomic structural determination of single-walled carbon nanotubes by electron diffraction . He earned his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at Kemerovo State University, Russia in 1996 with the dissertation "Binary nucleation of supersaturated glycerine vapor in the vicinity of the phase transition lines". He earned his Habilitation (Doctor of Science - the highest scientific degree in Russia) at Saint-Petersburg Technical State University, Russia in 2011 with the dissertation "Development of technologies of nanoparticle and carbon nanotube synthesis by chemical vapor deposition method". He holds patent Method, computer program and apparatus for the characterization of molecules. Albert is fluent in Bashkirian, English, and Russian and has intermediate knowledge of Finnish.
